Evergreen planting time! Late summer/early fall is the perfect time to plant evergreens. We planted our new crop of baby evergreens into our field last week. They are already off to a great start growing! We brought in our crop this spring from @sesterfarms and they came in perfect! Our newly planted crop this season is Norway Spruce, Black Hills Spruce, Fat Albert Blue Spruce, White Pine, Vanderwolf’s Pyramid Pine, Green Giant Arborvitae, Techny Arborvitae, Nigra Arborvitae, and Emerald Green Arborvitae. After planting, our crew watered & mulched them in. The rain last night was perfect for them! The new crop will grow here for 4-5 years before we harvest them at 5-8’ specimens. We recently completed our field inventory for the

We recently completed our field inventory for the upcoming Fall 2023 & Spring 2024 seasons. For our third season now, we used the InstaCaliper technology from 2nd Sight Bio to help gather counts & measures on caliper and multi-stem trees. After collecting the data in the field, we enter new numbers into our GrowPoint inventory software. This season, our son Joey Thomas is heading up the inventory process. He is becoming a quick study on this part of our operation. In the field, he has a good eye for our quality standards and makes production notes for improvement along the way.
