We will post updates here on our SGN Trees in the Landscape
~ August 11, 2023
We had the pleasure of visiting our forestry friends at Western Springs the other day and checked in on a few of our SGN Trees growing around town. They all looked beautiful and seem to be loving their new home! We also were able to look at spots around town for future plantings. This will help guide our recommendations in the years to come about what species to plant and grow. Here are a few pics from our recent visit:
Tight spot downtown for this Pyramidal European Hornbeam
Catalpa & Kentucky Coffeetree doing well!
Bald Cypress are thriving around town
This Catalpa will make a statement for years to come in this park

Scoping out new planting locations

We’ve been out and about this past month checking in on our “babies” growing in the landscape. We grow trees for several municipalities across Illinois, and our relationships with the foresters who plant our trees is very important to us. We enjoy working with forestry teams to select the right trees for their communities. After our SGN Trees leave our nursery and get planted in communities, we like to follow up to see how they are doing. It is fun for us to go around town with our forestry friends and find our trees. We especially love seeing some of our trees that were planted years ago – they are getting big and thriving!
Here are some pictures and notes about some of our SGN Trees we got to visit in their new homes. Enjoy!
