Our spring season is off to a great start! We have been steadily harvesting trees that have been pre-ordered by customers. We dig in order of the bud swell by genus. Earlier leafing trees, like Crabapples & Serviceberry get dug first. Certain trees, like Birch or Oaks, have to be dug right when the bud turns green. Later leafing trees, like Hackberry & Kentucky Coffeetree, can be dug last. Harvest usually lasts for a few months. At the same time, our yarding crew works to load up the trees in the field and bring them to our sales or shipping yards. We use several skid steers, tractors, hayracks, and trucks to harvest and ship our trees. Our SGN Team is the best at getting the job done!

Follow along as the nursery grows in 2023. Robert Avery of Airwave Media Productions – @AirwaveMediaProductions – captures our nursery from above with his drone. Combined with his talent for video production, he offers us a unique perspective on SGN Trees. We can’t wait to watch this project grow!
