Next Read: Rooted: Life at the Crossroads of Science, Nature, and Spirit by Lyanda Lynn Haupt
Grow & Read, Together
You’re invited to our December Leaf by Leaf Book Club gathering! As the year draws to a close and the landscape settles into winter’s quiet, we’ll turn our focus to Rooted: Life at the Crossroads of Science, Nature, and Spirit. Join us for an in-person discussion, some light refreshments, and the companionship of fellow readers who share your affinity for the natural world.
Why This Book?
In Rooted, author Lyanda Lynn Haupt weaves together science, nature, and spirituality in a rich exploration of our place in the world of trees, soil, and the more-than-human community around us. Whether you’re drawn to the biology of trees, the rhythms of seasons, or the deeper felt connection we share with the land, this book offers many portals to wonder, reflection, and conversation.
Haupt invites us to slow down and pay attention to the roots beneath our feet, the relationships that sustain us, and the ways we’re all interconnected. It’s a book that asks us to consider not just what we know about nature, but how we experience it, live with it, and belong to it.

Join the Conversation
Whether you’ve read the book cover-to-cover or are still dipping in, your voice is welcome. We’ll gather in person at our farm—no virtual link this time, just a warm, in-person space to share, listen, and grow together.
Book club gatherings are about more than discussing chapters. They’re about building community, making space for reflection, and creating connections that grow deeper over time. We’ll share insights from the book, ask questions, and explore what resonates with each of us. There’s no right answer, just good conversation.
Please RSVP to maggie@sgntrees.com or on our Facebook event so we can plan snacks and seating.
Let’s celebrate the turning of seasons, the deep roots of trees, and the branches of community that spread open around us. We look forward to growing, reading, and connecting, Leaf by Leaf!
