In the spirit of peace & forgiveness a garden is growing in the West Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago. Yesterday on the anniversary of Emmett Till’s death, we were able to plant hope in the new Mamie Till-Mobley Forgiveness Garden just steps from the home she raised her son Emmett. All paths lead to the the mother & son stones at the center of the garden which Naomi Davis, founder of Blacks in Green, hopes to inspire a spirit of healing & forgiveness to all who visit this sacred space. Thank you to Chicago Regional Trees Initiative and Greencorps Chicago for including us in the plantings yesterday. We are beyond honored that our #sgntrees can grow and flourish in this beautiful garden. I encourage you to google about her garden and learn more about Mamie and her story of activism & forgiveness, it’s inspiring!
