The fall colors have been bright and cheerful at the nursery this season! In mid-fall the Oaks start to slowly come into their fall glory. Unlike Maples who burst on the fall scene in a loud “Look at me, look at me!”, Oaks join the fall party in a more subtle fashion. And then all of a sudden one day, there they are – steady & spectacular. Welcome to the fall party Oak friends!
On a bright and sunny day in late October, we were able to capture some beautiful images of Oaks along with some of their late fall color friends Sweetgum, Bald Cypress, and – you guessed it – more Maples. Fall is definitely a favorite time of year around the farm!
Besides enjoying the beautiful colors, we have been busy digging & shipping fall orders. The weather has been cooperative and some timely rains have helped the trees settle into fall mode in the field. We are currently in the thick of fall shipping, and as we move into mid-November we will start to set our sights on the end of the season. But until then, we will keep growing, digging, and shipping until the weather tells us it’s time to wrap it up!
In the meantime, please enjoy these images from around the farm this fall:
