Expert Advice & Selection 

We pride ourselves in having the knowledge and expertise to grow and help you select a specimen tree. We have a whole blog post dedicated to selecting the perfect Legacy Tree™, and we would be more than happy to help consult on the species and planting location with you. You’re invited to schedule a time to come out to our farm to hand-select your Legacy Tree™ from our sales yard!

Legacy Tree Certificate

Each Legacy Tree™ comes with a customized certificate including the name of the tree and a personalized message for the recipient or their family. Whether you are gifting a tree, purchasing a gift certificate, or are planting a tree somewhere you might not always see it such as a cemetery or park, the certificate is a nice physical reminder of your Legacy Tree™.

Plaque Information

If you are looking to commemorate your Legacy Tree™ with a custom plaque, Plaque Maker is a website recommended to us by the Seneca Parks Department. We have been working with the Seneca Parks Department over these last few years to help design and create a new park in town. Each tree in Graves Park is a Legacy Tree™ that has a plaque dedicated to who the tree is for. If you’re ever over in Seneca we recommend checking out this new park! It has an accessible walking path, picnic pavilion, new playground equipment, and multiple sports fields. And, you can check out the growing forest of Legacy Trees! 

Memorial Artisan Suncatcher

In addition to a certificate with your Legacy Tree™, Memorial Trees come with a custom, handmade sun catcher made by local artisan Margaret Wherry of AM Creations. We first met Margaret at the 3 French Hen’s Country Market in downtown Morris over the summer and we were drawn to the beautiful suncatchers, candles, earrings, and soaps at her stand! After running into her a few more times at some other local festivals and markets we had the idea to partner with her in creating a beautiful piece of art to include with Memorial Trees. We have really enjoyed getting to know her better and love that she draws inspiration from nature and the environment. We instantly connected and are excited to see where this partnership grows!

Planting a Legacy Tree™ is one way you can honor and memorialize a loved one. Whether you want to plant the Legacy Tree™ at the graveside funeral service, hold a more structured memorial service at a later time and place, or simply gather with family and friends to plant a tree together and say a poem, we have put together a few different resources and examples for how that might look.
