February is a month of preparation. The trees are still dormant, but we’re laying the groundwork for a successful spring season. This month, we’re fine-tuning equipment, finalizing our planting plans, making facility improvements, and ensuring that everything is ready to go to hit the ground running come March 1st. Spring comes at you fast!
Later this month, we’ll be exhibiting at iLandscape, one of our favorite opportunities to connect with our friends in the green industry. Trade shows always remind us how interconnected our work really is as growers, designers, contractors, municipalities, and educators all sharing ideas, challenges, and excitement for the season ahead! This year, Maggie will also be joining a panel discussion on Wednesday, February 25 from 1:00–2:00 pm titled “What’s Trending: An Update on Plants and Landscape Design.” We love these moments of conversation and collaboration, and we’re looking forward to talking trees, trends, and best practices with familiar faces and new friends alike. Make sure to stop by our booth at iLandscape, February 25-27 in Schaumburg!
February is also when we begin welcoming groups to the nursery through Gather at the Grove experiences. It’s nice to be able to walk the field together, share how our trees are grown, and take time for deeper conversations. These gatherings are about connection: to the land, to the process, and to one another. They’re a reminder that education and community are just as much a part of what we grow here as the trees themselves. Interested in bringing a group to Gather at the Grove this season? Just reach out to Maggie (maggie@sgntrees.com) to schedule a visit!
We look forward to the season ahead and the momentum that comes with spring at the nursery. As we prepare for another year of growing, gathering, and learning together, we’re grateful for the relationships that root us in this work and excited to see what this next season brings!
