It’s planting day at Roselle Park District! We have been working with the Park District for a few seasons now to help them develop a plan to restore their canopy. The park has a high number of Ash trees to remove along with an aging canopy. Adding some new species in key areas will be essential to provide shade, habitat, & beauty for park goers for many years to come. We visited the park last month to walk a few of their parks and figure out which species would grow best for them. They came out to visit the nursery and see how we grow our SGN Trees and select trees for their projects. Catalpa, Hackberry, Oaks, Lilac, Crabapple, Bald Cypress, and American Elm are some of the tree species we designed into their master plan. We delivered the trees earlier this week, and we visited yesterday to help flag out the perfect locations for their new trees. Today community volunteers will be planting 30 new trees in Goose Lake & Chatburg Parks. We can’t wait to watch our babies grow in their new homes at the parks! Helping our customers curate their canopy is one of our favorite aspects of being SGN Trees Growers!
