~ May 12, 2023
The month of May is off to a busy start at the nursery! We finished harvesting both deciduous and evergreen trees in the field. Our SGN Team has also finished pulling trees in from the field to our above ground sales & shipping yards. We are still in the middle of shipping out our spring pre-orders with multiple semi loads of trees hitting the road daily from the field. We are looking forward to seeing our SGN Trees planted soon in communities across the region!
Now that the spring harvest & planting is complete, our team has moved into the field production mode of staking, pruning, and spraying. We will continue this phase of growing throughout the summer months. This spring has been unusually dry, so our crew has also been watering our newly planted liners and anything recently harvested that hasn’t shipped out yet. As I write this, we are looking at a possible 1″ of rain on the way here shortly – we really need it and everyone here is doing a Friday rain dance to get the weekend started!
Besides our spring pre-orders, we harvested an additional 1000+ trees for our above ground sales yard. We have a beautiful assortment of specimen trees ready to go for planting projects. Now that everything is starting to flower and leaf out, the sales yard is looking fantastic!

Maggie, Fern, & I also had an opportunity to visit a planting project with CRTI & Eden Restoration Project that some of our SGN Trees were planted on. Here is a link to more about the project: From Food Desert to Food Forest
We welcome you to come out to the nursery this May. We look forward to growing for you this season!
