We are thrilled to introduce our newest member of the SGN Trees Family – Fern Harper! Many of you have watched our daughter Maggie grow up along with our nursery over the years – she was just 3 years old when we planted our first crop of trees in 1999. On Nov 30, Maggie and her husband Zach made us grandparents for the first time! Florence James Harper was born in Champaign, IL a healthy & happy 8lbs 12oz, 21″ long. Fern and her parents are doing well, and we couldn’t be any happier to welcome her into our lives. She will be getting her boots muddy behind the tree planter just like her mom did before we know it!
While we were all awaiting the delivery news from our son-in-law Zach, we anxiously needed a way to pass the time. We did what we do best – planted a tree! Here are a few pics of our new Bur Oak being planted in front of our office while we were waiting for the call from the hospital. Maggie & Zach decided to wait to find out the gender so it was a fun surprise for everyone to find out we had a new little girl in the family. We also love her name – Fern! She will be a lover of everything outdoors for sure 🙂
Jamie & I we able to visit shortly after Fern’s arrival. Here are some pictures of her first few days:
Fern fit perfectly in the same stocking Grandpa Jamie came home from the hospital in when he was born many Decembers ago! We have a new little stocking hung at our home this year and we can’t wait to celebrate this holiday season with our new bundle of Christmas joy!
