We had an inspiring & enlightening week of learning at EAGL Delta Track! EAGL is an executive ‘mini-MBA’ curriculum tailored to the nursery and greenhouse industry, developed in collaboration with Dr. Charlie Hall at Texas A&M University. Every two years, EAGLs come together to continue learning & building the network. This year we did a deep dive into negotiating, pricing, living your values, and engaging future leaders. We took a tour of the Ball Horticultural headquarters and heard from industry leaders who inspire their teams to live their values in every aspect of their companies. Huge thank you to Christa Orum-Keller, Alan Rouse, and Anna Ball for sharing their stories & vision with our group! The Ball facility & gardens are beyond words… innovative, inspiring, cutting edge, beautiful… are a few that come to mind!
Following the conference, we welcomed a contingent of EAGLs to our nursery for a tour. Fellow tree & greenhouse growers from across the country came together in our field to share ideas & talk trees for the afternoon. While we were gone all week at the conference, our SGN Trees next gen Maggie & Joey kept everything running smoothly on the farm and hosted an amazing tour for the group. Thank you to Dr. Charlie Hall (TX) and growers from Trees of Corrales (NM), Klepac Greenhouse (TX), Baxter Wholesale Nursery (ID), and Bachman’s (MN) for visiting our farm! It will take a while to unpack everything we learned throughout the week, but we are ready to grow forward! THANK YOU to the EAGL network, especially Charlie & Kellee, for their commitment to excellence. A bright future lies ahead for our green industry!
Under the leadership of Dr. Charlie Hall & Kellee O’Reilly, this program is unique for our industry and provides invaluable resources to our team here at SGN Trees. For more about the program, visit the site https://eaglnetwork.com/what-is-eagl/
