Fall digging is in full swing at the nursery. We are quickly moving through orders and shipping daily. The weather has been cooperative (for the most part), and we have enjoyed some exceptional fall colors in the field. We are hoping the late start in the spring will result in an extended fall season before winter sets in. As we continue to dig & ship, we will start to look ahead to next spring. Fall field prep will be underway soon on the areas that we will be planting next year. We will also harvest our soybean cover crop soon.
A very exciting project underway at SGN is our new shed & office building at the farm. For 20 years now, we have operated our office out of another farm location down the road. At the nursery, we just had a small trailer for storage and not much of an area for our employees or our equipment. We are building a new storage shed with attached office, and we can’t wait for the project to be completed soon! Construction started earlier this fall, and we hope to be moved in our new office by the end of the year. Below are a few pics of our new project – a great way to celebrate our SGN 20th anniversary!
Stop by and visit us this fall. We welcome you to check out our trees and see what we have growing for you!
