March is in like a lion & maybe out like a lion too! We have not seen much of a warm up yet in the nursery, which will make for a later start & hopefully a longer window to get our spring field work done.
Due to the chilly temps & snow cover still in the nursery, we have not begun any field work yet. Even tagging has been difficult to get around & complete. Once the warm up comes & stays for good, it will be pretty wet for a while until the ground thaws. At this time, we cannot project our spring dig week. Our best guess right now would be the week of Mar 24 at the earliest.
We are planting a full crop of new liners this spring into the field for future production. As many nurseries have cut back on their planting plans, we are proud to be able to continue lining out new stock each spring. We will once again be planting great trees from J. Frank Schmidt Nursery, Carlton Plants, John Holmlund Nursery, Robinson Nursery, and Kuenzi Turf & Nursery – all from Oregon. Our evergreen crop this spring will come from Sester Farms & Evergreen Nursery. Our trees are set to arrive the first week of April & hopefully the ground will be perfect for planting by then!
We have a great resource on our website to help you learn about some of the trees we offer. In our PHOTO GALLERY we feature trees photos from our field as well as our TREE FACT SHEETS. Check them out & feel free to use them as a reference in your tree selection decisions.
Spring is a great time to visit the nursery! Please stop by anytime to watch planting, digging, or tag your trees in the field. We encourage you to get spring orders in early this season. We have already begun to sell out of several vareities & sizes, and we anticipate a busy spring season. Thanks for your time & we look forward to working with you this spring!
