The Illinois Green Industry Association recently held their Annual Summer Conference in Lake Geneva. After a tough spring of weather, it was nice to gather with other nursery folks to conduct a little business but more importantly have some fun! Becky Thomas ended her term on the Board of Directors and has “retired” to role of Past President. The group enjoyed a visit to Rotary Botanical Gardens (highly recommend this!), spent time visiting and networking with growers, and even had a sunny afternoon on the lake. Thank you to Becky’s friend Mark Dwyer at Rotary Botanical Garden for an excellent tour. Mark is an “old” classmate of Becky’s from LA at U of I and the work he has done on this garden is spectacular! This is a great industry to be in – mostly because of the fantastic group of nursery & landscape friends you make along the way. Looking forward to another great year for IGIA!
