Malus Red Jewel Crabapple

The month of May is off to a busy start at the nursery! Our SGN Team has finished pulling trees in from the field to our above ground sales & shipping yards. We are still in the middle of shipping out Spring orders with semi loads of trees hitting the road daily from the field. We are looking forward to seeing our SGN Trees planted in communities across the region! We celebrated Arbor Day at the end of April with local schools and communities, planting trees with kids locally, throughout the Chicagoland region, and all the way down to southern Illinois! This is one of our favorite times of year – there is so much going on in the field and in our communities.

Now that the spring harvest & planting is complete, our team has moved into the field production mode of staking, pruning, mowing, and weeding. We will continue this phase of growing throughout the summer months. Besides our spring pre-orders, we harvested additional trees for our above ground sales yard. We have a beautiful assortment of specimen trees ready to go for planting projects. Now that everything has flowered and leafed out, the sales yard is looking fantastic!

Our fields have been shining with beautiful flowers and fresh green foliage this spring. Springtime in the nursery always brings a fresh perspective on a bright future ahead. We hope you enjoy scenes from around the nursery this spring!
