We had so much fun hosting Illinois Valley Industries to the farm last week! We enjoyed a Tuesday lunch break in the woods with our IVI Friends and our SGN Team. Nature walk to the Troll Tree, leaf rubbing, tree planting, hot dogs, s’mores… it was a perfect start to the summer! The month of June is just beginning here at the nursery! In the field we have crews split between pruning, staking, and weeding. The weather this season has been beautiful so far!

Here is a video clip of our staking machine in action over the last few years. Becky’s Dad built this custom staking add-on to our tractor. It has staked thousands of trees over the years for us and works perfectly for what we need!

At SGN Trees, we grow healthy trees, deep roots, and strong communities. Established in 1999, Spring Grove Nursery is a wholesale tree nursery growing in North Central Illinois. As part of a 6th generation family farm, we are rooted in the heart of Grundy County just south of the Chicagoland suburbs. Our nursery grows a diverse and superior selection of Shade, Ornamental, and Evergreen trees.

Ready for pick-up or delivery, we offer Landscape Contractors, Garden Centers, Municipalities, Park Districts, and Landscape Architects a collection of healthy specimen trees for the landscape. Hummingbirds and bees are buzzing back at the garden and our Sage bushes and Chives are blossoming like crazy! Depending on who you ask you’re “not supposed to let herbs go to flower” because it halts their growth, but we love the added color, texture, and pollinator habitat these purple flowers bring! Happy Thursday! 🐝🦋🐦🌸🌞
