Summer Intern Spotlight: Colin Collet

🌳 Favorite Tree: Honeylocust

🌳 Favorite Nursery Task: Delivering & Planting local trees

🌳 Least Favorite Task: Watering 💦

🌳 School & Major: Junior at UW–Platteville, Civil Engineering

Colin is another local college intern whose brother, Christopher, has also worked at the nursery. Much like the rest of his family, Colin is a runner! 🏃 He’s enjoyed taking field trips, delivering and planting local trees, and spending time working with friends.

It’s been so fun to watch him grow up and join the team on the farm this summer! 🌱

It’s Pawpaw season, everyone! 🍃 Unlike apple

It’s Pawpaw season, everyone! 🍃

Unlike apples or pears, pawpaws don’t last long after picking. Within days they soften and ferment. That makes them hard to find in stores, but an extra special forest-find in their short season.

Pawpaws invite us to slow down, walk the woods a little more often, and enjoy the gift while it’s here. The trees seem to know something about community and resilience, building their own network underground while offering shade, habitat, and food above. It’s a living picture of how roots and relationships sustain growth. 🌳💚
