“Hot & Dry” is how we would describe the summer so far here in the nursery. We are well below the average rainfall amounts in our field & our county is technically in a drought. Most of our efforts in the field have been directed at watering newly planted trees – the last 3 years of liner crops. We have received small rains here & there to keep the more established trees in the nursery going just fine. But more rain would be a very good thing!
Without much rain, we are not seeing a tremendous amount of caliper growth in the field this season. Jamie just finished our summer inventory counts so we will be coming out soon with our new fall Field Direct Specials. In the mean time, our Holding Yard is full of beautiful trees above ground ready to ship!
Our new AUGUST VIDEO shows how we have been handling the drought. Jamie demonstrates our watering wagon & our summer inventory methods.
Despite the dry weather, we have continued to ship trees out to customers regularly & we are looking forward to a busy fall. Please stop by & visit this summer – we would love the opportunity to show you around the nursery!
