Spring has arrived at Spring Grove Nursery! We are in the full swing of digging & planting now. The digging season started a few weeks earlier then normal. the warm temps had ornamentals & many shade trees on the move. Luckily, the weather has been cooperating & we have been able to stay ahead of the buds popping out. Many ornamentals are now beginning to leaf out so the dig window has closed on them. We are done digging species like Crab, Serviceberry, Cherry, Hawthorn, Redbud, Dogwood, Witchhazel, Pear, Cherry, & Lilac. But don’t worry! We dug extras besides our orders so that we can have some nice specimens above ground for the holding yard.
We also began receiving our new liners & planting them into the nursery. All of the new liners have come in now. We planted about half last week & we hope to finish up this week. We will have a beautiful new crop in the field for future orders!
As we continue digging, we will also start shipping soon. We will begin to pull the trees in from the field to our loading area & our Holding Yard. If you have projects coming up that you need trees for this spring, now is the time to get your order in. Please don’t hesitate to call. Thanks & have a great spring!
