Last month, we featured several upcoming items of interest in the Green Industry. The first one was the IGIA Summer Conference held this year at the IL State Fair in Springfield. We attended with our kids, and we had a great time! Dean Goodenough & his family did an excellent job hosting the event, and we really enjoyed the state fair festivities. The best part of the IGIA Summer Conference is time spent visiting with fellow members. If you are member of the Ilinois Green Industry Association and you haven’t been to one of their events yet, you should give it a try. And if you are not a member, we would love for you to join us!
Coming up in October, Becky will be joining some fellow IGIA members for a lobbying trip to Washington DC. While there we will be joined by our ANLA team on the ground in DC where we plan to meet with Senators & Representatives to talk about issues important to the Green Industry & small businesses here in Illinois. The more the merrier when it comes to lobbying, so if you have ever thought about doing something like this – now is the time! No experience is necessary, and you can give Becky a call to find out more.
Next week, we will be heading out to the SMA International Urban Forest Conference in Milwaukee. The Society of Municipal Arborists hosts the annual event, and the line up of speakers & topics is top notch. Joining us as another exhibitor will be Nancy Buley from J. Frank Schmidt Nursery, one of our favorite liner suppliers from Oregon. Nancy will also be presenting on Monday – “Urban Trees for a New Century” . We are looking forward to learning more about Urban Forestry at this conference, and we are excited to be exhibiting for the first time at it as well. It’s not too late to sign up for the conference – just click the link above for more info.
Several EAB Grants are still available for IL communities. Click here for a link to our Blog where you can get more info…
The photo in this section is from our family vacation at the end of the summer. We took a great camping trip with the kids out to Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a great way to end the summer & get ready for fall!
