We were honored to host the Ornamental Grower’s Association at our nursery in September! When we started our nursery in 1999, these growers welcomed us into their nurseries, shared knowledge, and taught us so much about growing.
Several years later, we were invited to join the elite growers of the OGA. Many of these people are more than colleagues, they are treasured friends. It was a beautiful day to walk through the nursery and talk trees. Our 3 family farm teams – SGN Trees, iTrees.com, and Harford Farms were on hand to share how we work together to grow our trees & our farm. Growers from Cedar Path Nurseries, Doty Nurseries, Goodmark Nurseries, Kaneville Tree Farms, Kankakee Nursery, Midwest Groundcovers, and Poul’s Nursery enjoyed the beautiful fall afternoon walking the tree rows and “talking shop”.
We ended the tour with a delicious feast in the shed from local caterer BBQ & Baker. Tracey and her team used our home grown apples, tomatoes, & herbs to creatively prepare a delicious meal for us. It was awesome to collaborate with another local biz for the event
Thanks OGA growers for visiting, but mostly for making this green industry business of growing trees meaningful, collaborative, and FUN!

What a great day! Delighted to see so many of our great customers gathered in one place. We treasure our OGA customers. Like Becky says, you are much more than customers – you are great friends! Nancy Buley of J.Frank Schmidt & Son Co.
