It’s hard to believe November is here! Our fall digging orders have kept us very busy. We are in full shipping mode as the guys pull in our newly dug trees in from the field. Our holding yard is also well stocked with some of the hard to find fall trees like Oaks & Birch.
We have many of the trees that are at risk for fall digging from the field available above ground from our spring dig. We dug some extra in the spring so that we could have them ready above ground this fall.
Pictured here is a Regal Prince Oak. The Regal Prince is a hybrid of a White & Swamp White Oak. It is a Heritage Trees introduction which will mature to about 50′ x 25′. We have some beautiful specimens still above ground this fall!
Back in the field, we are beginning to prepare the ground for our spring plantings. We also planted our grass strips throughout our newly planted liners about a month ago. The grass is coming up nicely & will provide a good cover for our soil in the coming years.
We will begin a new count & measure soon in the field to prepare our spring inventory list. After the counts are in, we will begin wrapping our trunks for the winter on species that need protection.
Before we know it, everything will be ready for the winter! We invite you to stop in this fall for a nursery tour. Now is a great time to see what we will have coming on for spring!
