What do Dirt, Tractors, Trees, & Computers all have in common? Tree planting day at the nursery of course!

We have some great new innovations on the farm this spring! Our planting video this year features a great conversation about SOILS and how we manage & care for our soils here on the farm for future generations. Next, Jamie takes us to the back of the tree planter for an inside look at how the trees are planted. Finally, we wrap up with a highlight of our newest technology at the nursery. We used auto steer & GPS on our tree planter last year, but this year we added GIS tracking of the varieties & locations in the field. Join us on our annual tree planting video for a look at how it’s all done. Enjoy!

Join Jamie & Becky in the field for highlights from our 2014 tree planting. New this spring is some cutting edge technology in tree planting – auto steer on the tractor & GIS mapping of trees in the field. Becky’s Dad, Doug, shows viewers how it works from the cab of the tractor.  Out back on the planter, Jamie demonstrates how the trees get properly planted. Our video wraps up with some great pics from around the nursery this spring and a fantastic tune for your listening pleasure! Happy spring!

Join Becky Thomas of Spring Grove Nursery & Roger Purcell of J. Frank Schmidt Nursery for a great tour through the field.  Becky & Roger highlight several new tree introductions from J. Frank Schmdit Nursery in Oregon that are currently growing in the fields at Spring Grove Nursery.  You won’t want to miss learning about these fantastic new trees straight from the growers themselves!

Click below for details about these New Tree Introductions from J. Frank Schmidt Nursery:

Emerald Sunshine Elm, Street Keeper Honeylocust, Redpointe Maple, Royal Raindrops Crabapple, American Dream Oak, Streetspire Oak, Crimson Spire Oak

Here is a great video shot from above the nursery by Becky’s Dad Doug.  Doug flew over the nursery early one morning in his gyrocopter and captured a great aerial view of the nursery.  You can even see Jamie spraying the holding yard at the end! Thanks Dad for the great perspective on the nursery!
